Weekend 1/6/2024 10:00 AM Event: (Cars Leaves 10:30 PM (Saturday) – Arrives 12:00PM
This Saturday we are going to hike in Kocaeli in one of the most beautiful canyons in Turkey which is also very close to Istanbul but not very popular. This canyon is in kocaeli near one of the villages near the famous Yuvacık Barajı. The canyon is about 3 hours hike one way and ends with an extremely beautiful waterfall and very swimable pool.
Canyon Info
Canyon is divided into two main routes, one of them which is most favored and beautiful is around 6-7 kms one way. The other is easy but as interesting and beautiful. the canyon has lots of rocks, water covers most of it and it’s not possible to walk in it without getting wet! So be prepared to get wet and to swim at certain points to be able to pass.
Difficulty:
The canyon is not easy, but I would not say that it is also difficult ! It has no climbing points! Mostly flat but can be challenging due to some places covered with rocks and water streaming that could make it a little challenging but not difficult. It adds more fun to the hike for sure.

Drivers will provide their addresses so the people who are closer to them, so it will be easier to pick up and drop on the way back for both.
Food and Tea
Required Gear for Hiking:
- Rubber slippers or Sandals
- Hiking sticks (might be good in this hike if you have balancing issue)
- Swimming clothes (Backup clothes)
- Towel.
